Liz Hepple: A Trailblazer in Women's Cycling

A special treat in this episode of The Domestiques.

Liz Hepple is a pioneer in women’s cycling who raced in Europe, took on the world, and triumphed!

It’s been almost 40 years since Liz competed in the women’s edition of the Tour de France which was held concurrently with the men.

It was a primitive time but a moment in history which opened doors for others to follow in Liz’s footsteps.

While it’s thought Cadel Evans was the first Australian to stand on the winner’s podium at Le Tour, it was in fact Liz after finishing third in 1988.

Hear the story of an unsung hero of Australian cycling.
